Focus areas:
Research of relevance to general practice that strengthens injury prevention, recovery and rehabilitation following motor vehicle accidents, focusing on one or more of the following themes:
- Early identification and management of injury-related conditions
Examples may include, but are not limited to:

- Understanding recovery trajectories following injury

- GP-led or GP-coordinated models of care for injury recovery

- Management and coordination of chronic physical and mental health conditions following injury
-
- Supporting safe return to work, driving and daily function after injury
- Equity, access and system challenges in injury care
Examples may include, but are not limited to:

- Injury and trauma care in rural and regional general practice

- Building GP capability to support safe driving and independence for people with lifelong disability

- Workforce impact and sustainability in managing injury recovery
- Translation and implementation
Research that focuses on translating existing evidence into practice, policy or system-level change, including scaling, embedding or evaluating the uptake of research findings in general practice.
While all projects funded under this grant must demonstrate strong potential for translation, this theme is specifically intended for projects where translation or implementation is the primary aim.
Examples may include but are not limited to:

- Scaling up previously tested interventions or models of care across multiple general practice settings

- Embedding evidence into clinical guidelines, decision support tools or routine practice workflows

- Translating research findings into education, policy or system-level initiatives that support consistent uptake
Objective:
This grant aims to support innovative research that strengthens the role of general practice in preventing motor vehicle accidents, improving recovery following injury, and reducing long-term harm and disability, with strong potential for translation into practice, policy and system improvement.

Successful applicants will be required to:
- formally accept the grant and enter into a Grant Agreement with the administering organisation
- participate in a short interview with the Foundation
- meet key project milestones, including reporting requirements, with payments linked to specified milestones
- acknowledge the support of the Foundation and funding partner in relevant outputs
